The VISION

To provide year-round access for trail walkers to experience the natural beauty of Arthur’s Seat by upgrading the existing ‘Bunjil Circuit Walking Track’

The CHALLENGE

Sections of the track have fallen into disrepair and some ‘right of way’ sections have been closed off.

The SOLUTION

Rotary Dromana are collaborating with the Dromana Association to repair and reinstate the ‘Bunjil Circuit Walking Track’

What Needs Fixed

The Dromana Association has requested Parks Victoria and the Eagle Chairlift engage in a community conversation to enable us to firm up a written specification suitable for tendering.

This is a community-driven project that requires a public private partnership.

Resurfacing

A large percentage of the pathways need resurfaced with compacted stone

Replacing Steps

Upgrading steep sections with additional handrails and steps

Community Partnerships

Parks Victoria, Mornington Peninsula and Habitat for Restoration are key stakeholders with The Rotary Club of Dromana and Dromana Association

The Advantage of Peri-Urban Bushwalks

Being able to explore native Australian bush right on the outskirts of the seaside township of Dromana and Red Hill is an enormous privilege. Ensuring the existing tracks are maintained so that residents and visitors can experience the very best of of the iconic Arthur’s Seat is critically important. Following COVID people have been reconnecting with nature-based recreation.

Having the Bunjil Circuit Walking Track in good order ensures that connection to nature is maintained.
